margin
A small translator between two partners — for the days when one of you runs out of capacity before the words arrive.
This device isn't linked yet
Margin is in a small private pilot. If you're part of it, open the
personal setup link you were given — it looks like
margin.duostate.app/setup?token=… — once on this device,
and this page becomes your app.
If you're the partner in a couple: your view lives at the private link you were sent. This page is the sharer's side.

Messaging
Your partner can pause everything by texting STOP to any Margin message, and resume with START. Nothing is ever sent without your approval first.
Partner view
What your partner sees
While paused, your partner's page shows only a calm "sharing is paused" note — no weather, no items. Resume any time. Revoking a link is permanent. Lost the link? Make a new one — it's shown once, and the old one keeps working until you revoke it.
Drafting
The playbook is the set of short cards you two wrote together — it's the voice every draft starts from. Edit playbook →
Sources
Busy days and a piled-up to-do list lower the suggested capacity automatically. The slider is always yours to override. Reminders arrive via the Brain-Dump Shortcut; Margin picks at most 3 partner-helpable ones for your partner's view. Signal tiles & device setup →
Your data
Export downloads every row Margin holds about your couple. Delete is a hard delete — check-ins, messages, tokens, all of it, gone immediately. No recycle bin.
Help
How a nudge travels
The idea
The hardest moment to ask for help is exactly the moment you most need it. Margin closes the gap between "I'm running on empty" and being able to say so — without an essay, without an apology.
Capacity here is weather, not a grade. A number lets your partner meet the day as it is. There's no streak, no score, nothing to keep up with.
And you hold the dial: every message passes your eyes before it reaches your partner, and they only ever see what you approved.
Questions
What does my partner see?
A capacity band (like a weather report), suggestions you approved before they were sent, and things they could help with. Never your raw notes, calendar contents, or signal history. That boundary is enforced in code, not by policy.
What if a draft sounds wrong?
Edit it or cancel it. Drafts start from your playbook, and a guard swaps anything off-key for one of your own pre-agreed cards. Nothing goes out without your approval.
What's the playbook?
Short cards you and your partner write together — what a hard day sounds like, what kind of help lands, what to never say. It's the voice of every draft. Co-writing it is the real onboarding. Edit it here.
What if my partner texts STOP?
All sending halts immediately and this app shows "paused." Texting START resumes. Either of you can also stop everything by revoking the partner link or deleting the account in settings.
Does Margin send anything on its own?
No. Margin never sends a message you didn't approve. No scheduled messages, no reminders, no re-engagement nonsense.
Who can read my data?
You. Your partner sees only what you approve. Nothing is sold or shared, no ads, no tracking, no training AI on your data. Export or delete everything anytime in settings. Details in the privacy policy.
Is this a medical service?
No. Margin is a personal communication tool between two consenting adults. It provides no advice or treatment, and it's not a substitute for professional care.
